There was a strong earthquake in New Zealand and a tsunami threat was declared

A 7.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded in New Zealand's Kermadec archipelago, located in the Pacific Ocean.

The US Geological Survey reported on this.

The epicenter of the natural disaster is located 963 km northeast of the city of Whangarei with a population of 110,000, and the epicenter of the earthquake is located at a depth of 33.6 km.

There are no reports of casualties or damages.

The US National Meteorological Service has issued a tsunami warning.
